My theme is color and its physical appearance on the surface of the canvas.
The landscape is the carrier of my compositions. I try to relate the forms of nature, like organic furrows, horizontal stripes, vertical forms, to my feelings.
This is also true for the way of painting: layers of paint that are superimposed, partly applied pastily or even blurred, make one think of uneven surfaces of earth, sand and layered forms of nature.
The way the landscapes are created is the process of distilling experience from experience, of creating an intense unity from which everything dispensable has been removed. The surface as a whole is important to me.
The pace of viewing the picture can be determined by colour, tint and brush stroke. For me, landscape as a motif is a suitable metaphor for freedom. It offers me refuge for free action. This also means the freedom to play, to fantasize.

Über die Wahrnehmung meines Lebensraumes verarbeite ich in meinen Bildern was mich berührt.
Die Landschaft ist Träger meiner Kompositionen. Ich verarbeite Landschafserfahrung. Der Rhythmus von Baumstämmen im Wald mag zu künstlerischen Analysen anregen, ebenso die Struktur eines gepflügten Feldes oder der Blick auf eine mit hohem Gras bewachsenen Wiese.
Abhängig von Ort und Zeit, äusserlichen Einflüssen, aber auch von persönlichen Stimmungen, verändern sich Landschaften.
Dabei interessiert mich eine gewisse Spannung durch die Ambivalenz zwischen Fläche und Raum, sowie Ruhe und Bewegung.

The artist studied at the" Hochschule der Künste Berlin" with professor. J. Schmettau.
She has been holding events and exhibitions since 1984 and her works are part of public and private art collections
Since 1995 she lives and works in Havelland/Brandenburg near Berlin where she founded the art association "Kunstverein Kultürmühle Perwenitz e.V."

Die Künstlerin hat an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin bei Prof. J. Schmettau studiert.
Seit 1984 hat sie laufende Ausstellungen und Symposien.
Ihre Arbeiten befinden sich in öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen
Sie lebt und arbeitet seit 1995 im Havelland/Brandenburg, wo sie 2005 den Kunstverein Kulturmühle Perwenitz e.V. gründete und bis heute leitet.

The large scale installation 'Vanishing landscapes' by the American artist Nikkole Huss presented in occasion of the Festival "48 Std. Neukölln" is still on display and forms a dialogue with Gudrun Venters Landscape paintings.
