Aimée Beaubien, USA: 'Growing Light Shadows'

Aimée Beaubien creates an installation out of cut photographs arranged to 3-dimensional shapes inspired by the world of plants. The form elements, hanging from the gallery ceiling, cause a play of intense color, light and shadow within the site.

Aimée Beaubien earned her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL, in 1989 and  MFA there too, in 1993. Since 1997 she has been Adjunct Associate Professor, Photography, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL

Aimée Beaubien: 'Growing Light Shadows'
(Crescendo di ombre e luci)
Un'installazione di fotografie ispirata al mondo delle piante, elementi ritagliati e disposti in forma tridimensionale. Gli elementi, appesi al soffitto della galleria, provocano un´intenso gioco di colori, luci ed ombre che si riflettono nello spazio espositivo, suggestionando lo spettatore.
 Aimée Beaubien ha conseguito il BFA alla School of the Art Institute di Chicago, Illinois, nel 1989 e anche al MAE, nel 1993. Dal 1997 è stata professore associato aggiunto, dipartimento di fotografia, Scuola dell'Istituto d'Arte di Chicago,

In Franco Durellis opinion, art is not only language and means of color and forms and figurative and abstract expression, but also a strong power of communication and integration for people with social or psychological problems. This experience strongly reflects on the development of his art which shows a deep artistic
maturity and a constant research for new forms of expression.
In the great variety of his works the artist proceeds a pass through art history and is in dialogue with contemporary Italian Masters as well as with artists of the Quattrocento, as shown in some of his early graphical works and with artists like Henry Moore in his figurative works or de Koonig, Pollock and CY Twombly, as well as in his most recent abstract works.

Per Franco Durelli, l'arte non è solo linguaggio per mezzo del colore e delle forme, espressione figurativa ed astratta, ma un potenziale di comunicazione ed integrazione per le persone affette da problemi sociali o psicologici. Questa esperienza si riflette fortemente nelle sue opere caratterizzate da maturità e ricerca costante di nuove forme espressive.
Nella grande varietà delle sue opere l'artista passa attraverso la storia dell'arte ed è in dialogo con i maestri italiani contemporanei e con artisti del Quattrocento, come mostrato in alcune delle sue prime opere grafiche e con artisti come Henry Moore, De Koonig, Pollock e CY Twombly
